Chelsea Joy Handler, born 25 February 1975 on the 25th of February, 1975 in Livingston New Jersey, is the youngest of six children. Handler was among the six youngest children. Her mother worked as a housekeeper and her father was employed as a used-car dealer. Her mother came to America in the year 1958 as an immigrant from Germany. Her diagnosis was breast cancer in 1989 and was able to die after fighting the disease for 10 years. Handler was raised Reform Judaism by her father who was Jewish. Handler was born into an area that was nice, and enjoyed a pleasant childhood. In her early twenties she moved to Los Angeles in order to take on acting. Handler began her career as an actress in order to assist her. Her ability to tell stories was uncovered at the age of 21. Handler then decided to make a full-time commitment in stand-up comedy. Handler began her stand-up career becoming a member of the only female Oxygen group, who starred in a TV show named Girls Behaving Badly. The show was renowned for its hidden camera and humorous jokes. From 2002 until 2005, the series aired. Handler was a part of various shows, such as Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was a part of The Tonight Show for a time as a reporter. Handler got her first major break when she hosted her E! Show in 2006. The show was named the Chelsea Handler Show. The show ran for 2 seasons. Handler performed at The Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour in the United States the year after. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend & HBO have shown Handler's stand-up performances. In 2010, the MTV Video Music Awards 2010 were announced. In doing so, she was the second female host after Roseanne.
